Telecine Transfer
A Professional
Rank Telecine Machine
can certainly transfer
reversal or negative films stock.
Yale Film Lab in North Hollywood
800 955-9253
Has 2 Ranks with Super 8 gates.
They also have a Sony telecine recorder
that is a Sony film projector
with a cool clutch, and a lens
with an F-Stop ring up-front
and an L-Shaped lens that a
Video Camera points at.
You can get a good image
from that machine for
Reversal film.
The difficulty is that the
projector just keeps running.
So, a perfect setting for
shot # 1 may not be right for
Shot # 2.
The cool advantage of a Rank
or other professional
Telecine Machine is that
each shot and even each frame
can be color corrected, and
the "exposure" or density can
be corrected by a controller
like a DiVinci color corrector
that controls the film frame by frame
going through the Telecine machine
at 24 fps (or some other selected
speed -- frames per second) onto
video tape or into a computer
hard drive.
Here is a link about new telecine
machines:
